
Let’s Do It Ghana Unveils ‘Beast of No Nation’ Actor as Brand Ambassador
Let’s Do It Ghana, an environmental organisation has named a renowned Ghanaian actor, Kobina Amissah-Sam as the organisation’s brand Ambassador.
The actor who played the role of a father to multiple award winner-winning Ghanaian Hollywood actor, Abraham Attah in ‘Best of No Nation’ was assigned the ambassadorial role because of his exploits in the field of environmental sanitation and deep passion towards environmental cleanliness.
The one-year renewable contract is to promote environmental cleanliness and sanitation campaigns among the Ghanaian populace, especially school children.
The brand Ambassador will among other things, set up sanitation clubs in basic schools across the country to instil cleanliness in the youth.
At a colourful unveiling ceremony, Mrs. Kate Opoku Country Director of Let’s Do It Ghana said the organisation,was exploring alternative avenues aim at complementing the government’s efforts of achieving a clean environment.
She said the appointment of the brand Ambassador was expected to fetch Let’s Do It Ghana enormous benefits.
“It is our hope that the partnership with the brand ambassador will provide platforms to increase awareness of the agenda of Let’s Do It Ghana; provide opportunities for media engagement for publicity and visibility of Let’s Do It Ghana activities; promote coordination with sanitation stakeholder and participation in regional fora on sanitation; as well as facilitate resource mobilisation, and logistical support for the implementation of activities of Let’s Do It Ghana,” Mrs. Opoku outlined.
The actor has also been assigned to make a significant contribution towards the “World Clean-Up Day” set for September 15 2018, which intends to get 150 countries including Ghana on board to take an extraordinary action of cleaning their respective countries using citizens.
The World Clean-Up Day seeks to engage five per cent of the world’s population to create lasting change on sanitation and that goes just one day of incredible activism.Brand Ambassador Kobina Amissah-Sam in his address pledged to use his profession and followers to achieve results.
He therefore called on the media and his colleagues to support his activities to promote a clean Ghana.
“I cannot achieve this alone. I will need the help of the media and my colleagues in the movie industry in this direction. To my colleagues, I hope you will help me champion this cause for good sanitation,” Amissah-Sam said.
Popular Ghanaian personalities present at the event to support the initiative were Akorfa Edjeani Asiedu, Beverlyn Afaglo Baah, Peter Ritchie, Worlasi and CEO of MK Content, Mawuko Kuadzi.
